Axiom are delighted to announce that we’ll be working closely with the Benedictine Community of New Norcia to design, develop and implement signage across a variety of wayfinding and interpretation installations throughout the townsite.
New Norcia is Australia’s only monastic town. The site was founded by Spanish Benedictine monks as a mission to the Aborigines in 1847. It has had continuous occupation by the Benedictine Community since that time. The Benedictine way of life, based on the sixth century Rule of St Benedict, gives the town its primary identity and significance. The Rule gave the town its origin and has guided its development over 165 years. It has shaped practices, values and objectives which continue within the monastery and the town today. It is a distinctive way of life that exemplifies intangible heritage of outstanding significance and rarity.
We are honoured that the monks have bestowed upon Axiom the responsibility of respectfully interpreting this most significant site and we look forward to working with them as this exciting project progresses.

In late January this year we were introduced to the inspirational Mandy Mason and the extraordinary work her and her team are doing with the LEARN Foundation for Autism.
L.E.A.R.N. is an independent provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) based therapy services for young children having an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Mandy founded LEARN in 2008 after her daughter was diagnosed with autism in 2006. Mandy became passionate about the use of the science of ABA therapy in the field of autism and has overseen the growth of LEARN from 20 children on opening the centre in 2008 to a capacity of close to 100 children today.
After our introduction we couldn’t help but want to offer our professional services in a pro bono capacity to the LEARN Foundation to help them build their profile, fundraise and secure corporate sponsorships so that they can continue to positively change the lives of even more children each year.
Wow, well this year has certainly kicked off at the same cracking pace at which 2010 came to a close!
We had an unprecedentedly manic end to 2010, but fortunately managed to deliver upon all our promises and in the process continued to build upon relationships with our stable of existing clients.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been fortunate enough to secure several new business wins welcoming some notable new clients to Axiom. The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority and Fremantle Prison have both opted to extend our contracts with them so we’re looking forward to continuing the relationship with these two iconic Perth tourism destinations. Our resource sector clients and property sector clients have also certainly ramped up their operations riding high on the Western Australian Mining Boom Version 2.0.
It looks like 2011 is going to be all about managing our growth whilst maintaining and delivering the quality outcomes for which we are renowned. What a great time to be in business!
We were originally sentenced to serve out a two year term with Fremantle Prison but we’re delighted to announce that due to all our hard work on the chain gang the ‘guvna’ has extended our term by another year!
It seems that we’ve been model inmates and our integrated wayfinding signage system, comprehensive interpretive installations and publications brought them home not only a Western Australian Heritage Award but also helped to secure their World Heritage listing!
We’ve been told that the warden has still got plenty for us to do and is not that keen on giving us a sentence reprieve. We’re looking forward to finishing what we started and helping ensure that Fremantle Prison remains one of Western Australia’s premier tourism destinations.
