Less hustle, more bustle.

Less hustle, more bustle.

Clearly I’m getting old, there is a buzzword that many of today’s youth use to describe their daily modus-operandi. This word grated with me the first time I heard it and has continued to as its use increased – that word is ‘hustling’.

I would surmise the term most probably entered the vernacular via some hoodie wearing ‘guru’ at an overpriced ‘how to be an entrepreneur’ seminar. I understand the implied modern context being: To have the courage, confidence, self belief, and self-determination to continually work at, and to explore any and all opportunities to achieve what you want in life. Though more traditionally us ‘older folks’ tend to understand the term to mean you were a fraudster or con-artist.

Go ahead, leap!

Over easter I was sitting with my 8 year old daughter having a little chat. She is currently learning about money at school, so I was explaining that as we grow up we have to work in order to earn money. Right in the middle of me explaining what it is that I do and what her mum does, she blurted out something that I thought, well needed to be corrected; She said that “mummy had quit her old job”. Axiom to deliver iconic sculptural interpretive installation for world heritage listed Fremantle Prison

By Latest News

We are delighted to announce that Axiom has been awarded the opportunity to deliver an iconic sculptural interpretive installation for the world heritage listed Fremantle Prison.

Axiom have a long lasting association producing award winning interpretive signage and exhibition works to this important tourism destination and are excited to again be working with the Fremantle Prison team to deliver another important project. This project will depict the original use of the ramp as an arrival point for convicts. The ramp was the primary pathway along which convicts were led between the prison and convict transport ships anchored at Fremantle Port.

We will be developing an interpretive sculptural piece so that visitors to Fremantle Prison will be able ‘walk in the shadow’ of Western Australia’s convict past, the piece will depict a group of life-size convicts and pensioner guards on their arrival to Fremantle, highlighting the ramp’s significance as a historic convict pathway.

More information on Fremantle Prison.

Update: Following the culmination of several months work, a collaboration of artists and storytellers as well as a talented team of steel fabricators – the installation is now complete!

A fantastic opportunity for a Marketing ‘xxxx’ exists! We’re looking for somebody to join our team that is a creative yet strategic thinker with great design and branding skills, who is an accomplished and creative copywriter and content marketer. They will of course have proven experience in web design and programming and also be gun at Google Adwords, SEO and lead generation……

Well, hate to be the negative Nancy here, but in my 20+ years experience, I’ve not once come across an individual as accomplished as this — and if I had, they’d work for me and I’d be paying them very, very large $$ to stay, heck, I’d happily even give them equity because they’d have more skills than me!
